The top of New Zealand is also known as the Tail of the Fish (Te Hiku-o-te-Ika in Maori) while locals refer to it as the Far North. The Waipoua Forest contains Tane Mahuta, the largest tree in New Zealand at 51 meters. Cape Reinga is at the northern point where you can watch the Tasman Sea collide with the Pacific Ocean.
